Being a feminine woman in today's society isn't always welcomed, but deep down inside that is what you really feel! The poem takes place in what is today known as the John Greenleaf Whittier Homestead, which still stands in Haverhill, Massachusetts The poem chronicles a rural New England family as a snowstorm rages outside for three days. Stuck in their home, the family members exchange stories by their roaring fire.
What would you do to pass the time, if you were stuck inside for three days? And what do you do, to make this time of year a more memorable, pleasant time?
